First portion written by Jaymes about the idea of the "American Dream." Jaymes comes from the United States and has seen realities of economic, racial and gender oppression. Thoughout Mexico, folks are considering their options and deciding whether they will try to cross the border. This song is my small contribution to this conversation and movement. As a band we believe in the right to travel and the right to be able to stay where you are and thrive.
The second portion of the song is an adaptation of the song "Solidarity Forever" words by Ralph Chaplin in 1915. The song carried a melody from an older military song so it felt appropriate to update the melody.

lyrics
El sueño americano no existe
El sueño americano es mucha mierda
El sueño americano es una mentira
El sueño americano es una pesadilla
Si hay techo y hay trabajo
Alimentación
Organización
Pero es poco, muy poco, muy caro
Y además
Sexisto, racisto imperialisto
El sueño americano no existe
El sueño americano es mucha mierda
El sueño americano es una mentira
El sueño americano es una pesadilla
Dia por dia pesadialla
Pero
When the movement’s inspiration
Through the workers' blood shall run,
There can be no power greater anywhere beneath the sun;
Yet what force on earth is weaker
than the feeble strength of one,
But the movement makes us strong.
Solidaridad para siempre// Solidarity forever
Juntos somos mas fuertes// Together we are resilient
Solidaridad para siempre// Solidarity forever
El movimiento nos fortelece//For movement makes us strong
They have taken untold millions
that they never toiled to earn,
But without our brain and muscle
not a single wheel can turn.
We can break their haughty power,
gain our freedom when we learn
That the movement makes us strong.
In our hands is placed a power
greater than their hoarded gold,
Greater than the might of armies,
magnified a thousand-fold.
We can bring to birth a new world
from the ashes of the old
For the movement makes us strong.
